Lately, Nairobi City gubernatorial aspirant Polycarp Igathe has left Kenyans talking with his campaign strategy that is aimed at interacting with voters.
The strategy has seen him take up odd duties and responsibilities thus proving to Kenyans that there is no task that is difficult for him.
Igathe, who seems to be a Jack of all trades, has left some city residents worried about their jobs because they don’t know when he might strike.
Others have however criticized him for being a pretender and using the populist strategy which was the cause of his fallout with former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko. They further said that he will not behave like that once he is elected as governor.
In his campaigns however, the father of three has been heard saying that that is how he will be serving locals of Nairobi once they vote him in.
Recently, Igathe was spotted at Quivers lounge, along Thika Road, taking orders and serving customers like a waiter. Shortly after that, he took over the decks to play the role of a DJ and MC.
Apart from that, he has also been captured washing dishes at a popular restaurant in the city.
On May 18, the gubernatorial aspirant was captured washing cars at a car wash in Kiamaiko estate, Nairobi.Â
Aside from that, he was also seen hanging in matatus just like conductors and Makangas and was also seen doing a tailor’s job.
Igathe has also proved that he is a good hawker after photos of him hawking eggs, chapatis, water and even selling mutura surfaced on social media.
On May 24, he left Kenyans talking after he showcased his news anchoring skills during an interview with NTV. After being complimented by his host, Igathe said that he might consider a career in journalism after he is done with politics.
“It is integrity and being responsible. If you give me that job with a good salary, after five years when I am done with the locals of Nairobi I will come here at NTV,” he said.
