Gospel singer Ringtone has set the record straight regarding his ‘beef’ with the Bahati as well as his wife Diana Marua.
Ringtone has been talking ill of Bahati in so many occasions and at one point he claimed that he makes his money by supporting gay groups.
“Mi nataka tu kuwaambia kwamba, ukiona Bahati akinunua magari mzuri, akinunua manyumba, Bahati izi pesa lazima ujiulize pia anatoanga wapi. Izi pesa Bahati kuna maorganization za mashoga kutoka majuu. Ambazo zimekuja. Wanaona nikama Bahati anapendwa,” he said in an interview with Eve Mungai.
In another instance, he referred to the father of four as a con man together with Willy Paul.
In an interview with Diana Marua during the cook and reveal show, Ringtone however said that fans should not take the insults and remarks seriously because artists themselves don’t take it personally.
“People are not supposed to see this as beef. I come to your programs and diss your husband and even you but it is not that it is personal and I have said this before, if Bahati gets sick today his rich brother who can rush him to hospital is me,” Ringtone said.
He added that is as much as they seem to be hating each other out there, that is not the case behind the scenes
“Music is politics. Politicians fight out there but they don’t hate each other. Once they are done with press conferences they go and have tea. Music is also like politics,” he explained.
Ringtone further said that the reason why artists exchange words or ‘beef’ publicly is just to entertain their fans who have a lot of stress.
“It is not supposed to be personal. If I say Bahati is a thief, maybe he has stolen God’s money, I don’t mean that. He can also answer me in any manner he likes but we must have such conversations so as to entertain fans, they are stressed,” he said.
