Too Old For Mountaineering! Reactions As Raila Bags Unique Pair Of Shoes From Murang’a For ‘Climbing’ Mt. Kenya

Date:

Former Prime minister and ODM leader Raila Odinga has yet again received another pair of exquisite shoes as a gift.

This was during his campaign tour in Murang’a county on Saturday January 29, 2022, where he had gone to popularize his presidential candidature under the Azimio la Umoja movement.

The former prime minister was given the gift by Murang’a woman representative Sabina Chege.

“Baba, I want you to take these shoes, they are waterproof. You will use them to climb the mountain. May God bless you so much. We are praying for you,” Chege said while handing Raila the gift when the meeting was about to be adjourned.

Judging from the crowd that showed up for the event some Kenyans claimed that the ODM leader had already climbed the mountain.

“Will they still claim Baba hajaukwea mlima? Jamani, huku sio Mombasani wala Nyanza, huku ni Mlima Kenya. #AzimioMtaaniMuranga #AzimioLaUmoja kweli yawezekana,” Jane Kyallo, a twitter user, claimed.

Others however claimed that Raila was too old to climb the mountain and he should leave that for the younger generation,

“The octogenarian is too old to climb the mountain… let him retire and leave mountaineering to the younger generation,” Simon Alex Maina said.

“Raila has been climbing the mountain since Last year,” Gitonga Nyaga said.
