Former Machachari actor Ian Nene, known by his stage name Almasi was previously on the news for all the wrong reasons
A few years ago, Almasi was accused of being gay, mentally unstable and on drugs because of the photos he shared with his fans on social media.
This came after he quit the Machachari show and went abroad for studies. He was transferred to a school abroad, probably in an Indian nation, since his parents did not want him to study in Kenya.
Almasi has however opened up on his reckless childhood saying that he was such a rebellious child.
“I didn’t really have a manual, I free-balled everything. I was a wild kid. My parents could not tell me anything and I did what the hell I wanted to do,” he said.
According to Mpasho, he later on he realized that the direction he had taken was not of any beneefit and he was only able to redeem himself after converting into Hinduism.
“As time went on, I realized I did not know what the hell I was doing with my life. I had made such rash decisions. Decisions that seemed unchangeable, that I could not do much about tarnished my relationships, my circumstances, my reputation.
“I felt like I was tarnishing my life. Up until a few years ago I came into contact with the BhaktiVedanta and got to understand that actually I can change all that around and situate myself in the right mentality and have the right principles and manual to live my life,” he went on.

He added that the religion made him understand the true meaning of love.
“BhaktiVedanta transformed me, made me a better person, a more introspective person and a more loving person. It made me understand what love truly means,” Almasi said.
