The United States Has Given Kenya Ksh.495m Grant For Young Learners

Date:

The government of the United States has come to help Kenyan pupils advance their education even when they are out of school during holidays.

This is an effort that will be achieved following the grant that has been given in the tune of Ksh. 495m.

Through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program, the money is meant to help pupils who will be learning even during the school holidays period. The grant is therefore available for eligible applicants

There are strict measures that have been put in place to cushion this golden program from being hijacked by fraudsters. For starters, the program is meant to help pupils in their education, and therefore any youth platform that would benefit from this fund must have been operating in Kenyan soil for a while now.

This will ascertain the fact that it had been using Kenyan laws in its daily operations. Furthermore, this will be a pointer to the funders that the entity is conversant with the Kenyan curriculum – and is well versed with Kenyan educational terrain.

Another qualification is that the entity must be under the ownership of a Kenyan citizen, or someone who must have attained Kenyan citizenship and lawfully stays in Kenya. The entity ought not to be a US-based organization (US-based organizations are not eligible as prime awardees under the American Physical Society APS).

In commending the move by the United States government, the organization stated that this was a step in the right direction towards achieving a literate society. “Perfecting reading skills for primary school pupils requires effort outside of the schoolhouse. We are looking for local youth organizations who can help us build a community after-school reading program,” read part of the statement.
The United States of America has been ion the forefront ion championing the good education for pupils in Africa.
