On January 24 this year, Deputy President William Ruto claimed on National television that there are some elements with the government that is plotting to revive his ICC case.
Could it be that he had already known something about it?
This week, Ruto’s allies called on the Hague-based court to investigate what they claimed was state-instigated violence.
Sonko News has established at ICC detectives could be getting into the country soon if they are not in already. However, their mission is yet to be determined.
While vacating the Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta’s case, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda bitterly explained that she was obstructed from getting evidence by the Kenyan government. But she swore to revive the cases if evidence becomes available.
“You never know what they are cooking, maybe there will be other cases. They have already arrived at the ICC case and are looking for witnesses so that they can say this case did not end properly,” Ruto told Ken Mijungu, who hosted him on NTV Tonight show on Thursday,.
“My political opponents want to make every effort to stop my candidature.”

Ruto did not however give out the names of those scheming against him.
Ruto claimed that Kenya’s spy boss Retired General Philip Kameru confided him last year about a renewed attempt tp gather evidence.
Ruto alongside six others including President Uhuru Kenyata faced crimes against humanity. All their charges were dropped due to the lack of evidence. Ruto and Uhuru denied having a role in the post-election violence that left more than 1,200 people dead and 600,000 others internally displaced.
Both Ruto and the President were on the opposing sides, with President Kenyatta supporting then-President Mwai Kibaki while Ruto was an ardent defender of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“You see, I was a very easy target in the NARC administration (under former President Mwai Kibaki), they have been trying to look for a place to slow down William Ruto, how they can slow this man. If I was guilty of anything, I wouldn’t be seated here (as the Deputy President),” he said.
