A man in Kakamega has made headlines after he resorted to killing his own wife on Monday after an altercation surrounding the staple food, ugali.
Police in Kakamega County have arrested the man, one Mr. Joseph Shiro at Emukaya village and is currently being held at Shilakwe Police Post in Navakholo pending Court arraignment.
The suspect reportedly returned home drunk and asked to be served a second serving of Ugali. His late wife, Florence Makonjio didn’t comply with the demand.
The couple got into an argument before the man picked a jembe and hit his wife on the head.

According to the couple’s daughter, the father arrived home drunk and excited and was even dancing before them before the disagreement occurred.
Prior to the incident that has shocked the entire Emukaya village, the couple has never had any conflict whatsoever.
The body of Florence Makonjio is currently at Kakamega mortuary.
