Even though Interracial marriages were prohibited in Traditional African communities, they are now a common a thing and communities have learnt to embrace them.

Below is a list of 7 Kenyan politicians who have shown the world that love knows no boundaries. These politicians have gone beyond Kenyan borders to find love and it actually worked out for them.

1.Paul Simba Arati

The Dagoretti North Member of Parliament married his Asian wife believed to be a Chinese national after graduating from Guangzhou University, China in 2006. The lawmaker and his wife, who embraced a Kisii name, Kwamboka, met while Arati was pursuing his Business Management studies at the institution.

The couple were forced to go public in 2018 after Arati after it was claimed that Arati was immature as his critics assumed he was not married and therefore he was not fit to be the Kisii community spokesperson

The politician maintains that he has never been unfaithful to his wife but a lot of women have been after him.

“I have never cheated on her. I don’t entertain slay queens or funny women,” he said in an interview.

2.Mukhisa Kituyi

Kituyi is a former MP of the larger Kimilili constituency. Last year in February, he resigned from being the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Secretary General to concentrate on his presidential ambitions.

According to his biography, Kituyi is married to Ling Kituyi, a Norwegian and the couple had four children together but unfortunately the eldest passed away in 2015 at the age of 30.

3.The Late Michael Kijana Wamalwa

Kijana Wamalwa was the 8th vice president of Kenya and is the brother to Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa. He is also said to have had a white woman, however little is known about the relationship.

Wamalwa died on August 23, 2003 just four months after his wedding with his wife Yvonne Nambia. Yvonne passed on in January 2018.

He left behind six children from different wives.

The Suba North MP got married to a Zimbabwean, Magugu Mabona, in  February 2006. According to reports, Millie and Magugu first met online.

In a past interview, Millie said that she fell for Magugu’s charm during their first meeting by his simple act of carrying a bible.

“Sometimes you win strong people’s hearts with the simplest of things. When I saw him, he was carrying a Bible. That, for me, is greater than anything.

Shollei is the Women Representative of Uasin Gishu County. Initially, she was married to Sam Shollei, the former CEO of Standard Group.

Her marriage of 26 years to Sam was annulled in January 2020 but sources say they had been separated since 2016, and the cause of their divorce is believed to be a white man.

The White man is said to be warming Shollei’s bed after several photos of the women rep and him surface online.

 

6.Ken Okoth

The late Kibera MP was married to a European woman known as Monica. The two met while at University in Austria where Ken was the only student from Africa.

“I met Ken when we were at the university and he was the only African student in Austria. We were about 70 international students and most of us were Europeans and he was the only African yet he was the student leader. He was our voice, he was the one who would go to the head of the university to introduce us all, he memorized everybody name in two days, and everybody else was looking at each other how could this was possible,” Monica said after the death of the MP

 

 

7.Joyce Wanjala Lay

The former Taita Taveta Women Rep to a White man known as William Lay on August 25, 2007 at Thunder and Fire Ministries Church.

Their marriage however hit the rock bottom and Willaim filed for a divorce over irreconcilable differences.

The two are said to have met at an event to honour the victims of the 1998 bomb attack.
