On Tuesday, a woman created a ruckus in Nairobi’s CBD after holding a sit-in at a famous government building, Jogoo House to demand an appointment with the man she claimed to be the father of her child over upkeep claims.
There have been more instances of baby daddy and baby mama drama in Kenya, involving ordinary citizens as well as celebrities and government officials.
The woman, whose identity we cannot publish for legal reasons, waited outside Jogoo House while wearing a wedding gown and accused her baby daddy with avoiding responsibilities.
The mother, who was accompanied by two kids and a newborn, stated that the father of her kids worked as a police officer.
“The man has refused to take care of the children. We have had nothing to eat for days and that forced me to come here. This child (pointing at the infant) is sick and I do not have money for treatment. The father of my children is a police officer and his seniors are protecting him.” She cried in pain and regret.
She displayed medical records from the “Kenyatta National Hospital” (KNH) to passersby, claiming they were evidence that her child was ill.
Police officers and Ministry of Education employees are housed in the building where the police officer works.
“I have been suffering for a while and cannot take it anymore. I want President William Ruto or Kithure Kindiki to help me,” she begged.
