Kirinyaga woman representative Purity Wangui Ngirici must be hating deputy president William Samoei Ruto over his association with her ardent opponent governor Ann Waiguru.
Of late, Wangui Ngirici has been skipping major political events by the second in command, a manifestation that her political love for the deputy president has significantly reduced.
Just the other day, she skipped the Karen visit which saw a number of women politicians such as Waruguru, Wamuchomba and Waiguru pay the DP a courtesy call.
Besides, the moneybag Wangui Ngirici has been skipping political events held by DP Ruto in places like Kericho, Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Murang’a counties.
As a result, she has promised to make a major political decision that will shock her home county and the country at large.
According to Wangui Ngirici, politics is like a chess where you don’t rush to make decisions before checking your opponent well.
At the same time, the woman rep urged Kirinyaga residents to remain calm since the political journey was still long.
“I would liken politics to a game of chess. When your opponent makes a move you don’t rush to make yours ; You study the game carefully so that your next move is to give a a checkmate to your opponent.
Let us remain focused and calm and as my supporters always jokingly tell me ;”Ngirici you always play chess ♟ and not football” . I reiterate the same ?
Lastly , I believe in the people of Kirinyaga. The journey we began together, side by side and onwards we will finish God guiding us.” She wrote.
Wangui Ngirici while welcoming Waiguru to Ruto’s side noted that she made major contributions to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) more than the governor who had been backing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
“I popularised UDA Party in Kirinyaga County. I convinced my people that UDA was the political outfit to join, and that Ruto was the man best-suited to take over from [President] Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022. I also made them see the gaps in BBI, which was being championed by the President’s team,” she said.
“During that time, Waiguru was on the other side opposing Ruto, claiming that the DP had rented members of the Kikuyu community. She was also at the forefront popularising BBI across Kenya,” said Ngirici, adding: “When her [BBI] mission failed, she crossed over to UDA.”
