Cyrus Jirongo is bitter after ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi teamed up with Deputy President William Ruto, a move that was referred to as betrayal
Mudavadi quit the alliance together with Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula, leaving behind Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi and Jirongo.
As a result of the ‘earthquake’, Jirongo decided to paint the bad side of Mudavadi leaving Kenyans wondering why he did not say that while they were still together in OKA, or why he still worked with him in OKA when he knew the kind of person he was.
According to Jirongo, the burial of Mudavadi’s mother, Hanna, was financed by the state yet he disrespects president Uhuru Kenyatta during his campaigns.
“I would like to ask those who left us to conduct their politics with respect. Insults. We know that Musalia Mudavadi’s mother, Mama Hannah, passed on recently and the one who financed her burial was His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta and it is not respect to insult the person who helped you in your time of sorrow together with his family,” Jirongo told a crowd in Kitui during OKA campaigns.
He claimed that the ANC leader was part of the Goldenberg scandal that caused the country’s economy to collapse and not the YK92 in which he was the leader. He said that he carried the blame for thirty years because he considered Mudavadi as a brother.
“The country’s economy was brought down in 1992/93 by two politicians and an Indian, the Goldenberg thing. Those who don’t believe me go and research whether that house that my brother has been living in at Riverside belonged to Kamlesh Pattini or not. So you and your fellow corrupt politicians go and start lecturing Kenyans on corruption, that’s a shame.
He further bashed Mudavadi for disowning his late mother saying that he was shaming himself.
“Politics even makes you disown your own biological mother, Mama Hannah, and you start saying your mother is Rosebellah Cherono, that’s a shame. I can not deny my mother and pretend that the woman who made my mother have sleepless nights, the second wife, now will become my mother because I want to associate with a certain community,” Jirongo said.
The former Lugari MP however thanked God for removing corrupt leaders from their alliance and uniting them to work together. He said that he has never stolen anything from the government despite the many property cases in court.
