A woman in Mombasa has been busted for faking blindness and lameness in Mombasa’s CBD.
County askaris busted the woman who was sitted in a pavement with a green cup for collecting money from well wishers.
Behind her was her wheelchair, to further support her situation of being disabled.
In a video that has been shared online, kanjo officers demanded her to stand and walk, which she complied without any difficulties. They went ahead to demanded her to open her eyes, and she did it, to the amusement of onlookers who were left surprised by the turn of events.
Kanjo officers further demanded to know who had brought her to the city.
“Halafu mnasema county government inaonea walemavu. Huyu ni mlemavu? Na wanajazana katika CBD na vibasikili vyao wakionmba,” one of the officers said.
A section of onlookers went ahead to allege that the begging woman was from Tanzania.
The incicent has left netizens with mixed reactions with some saying she isn’t guilty of anything because she hasn’t robbed anyone.
“Wezi wkao parliament endeni huko kawaexpose,” a social media user stated.
