A video of the COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli cursing former Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala has resurfaced after losing the seat to Ferdinand Barasa of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
While speaking in Khwisero at some point, Francis Atwoli pronounced a serious curse on Malala that he will never amount to anything in this life as long as he is still alive. By anything, the COTU boss meant that the youthful senator will never be elected again within the borders of Kenya.
Atwoli expressed his disappointment at Malala for disrespecting him even after single handedly funding his campaigns in 2016 to be the Kakamega senator after he served as a Member of the County Assembly (MCA).
Consequently, the visibly angry Francis Atwoli transferred some serious curses to Malala, insisting that the senate seat was the last post he won and that he will never lead again in an elective capacity.
“Huyu mtoto anaitwa Malala mimi ndio nilimpa kiti mwaka wa 2016. Yule Malala amepotea na anataka jina yangu, sijakunywa chai kwa nyumba yao, sijakula kwao, sijakula kwake.
“Yeye amekula kwangu, ametumia pesa zangu kuwa Senator, alitumia mali yangu kuwa Senator
“Nasema leo nikiwa nyumbani Khwisero, hili jua tulipewa bure, kama yeye hakukula kwa hii mikono achaguliwe, kama alikula kwa hii mikono yangu asiwe kitu chochote katika Republic of Kenya,” Atwoli said amid cheers from the crowd.
The war between the former Kakamega senator has been long term. At some point in December 2021, the two exchanged war of words after Malala threatened to stop a meeting by Azimio that was planned at the famous Bukhungu stadium.
Cleophas Malala had expressed confidence that he would win the Kakamega gubernatorial seat. The former kakamega senator premised his campaign on a narrative that Kakamega residents had to be in government Ruto having been declared president elect. Below is the video of Atwoli cursing Malala:
