Award winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has wowed and at the same time annoyed many Kenyans following her recent gesture towards her dad Kisumu governor professor Anyang’ Nyong’o.
During Father’s day celebrations that were marked on Sunday June 19, Lupita celebrated her father by giving her a nice foot massage by the side of lake Victoria, in what seemed like a cool family moment.
She shared the video on her Instagram page captioning it, “Happy Father’s Day to the man whose feet I relish being at. #AnyangNyongo.”

A number of Kenyans felt that was not a good gesture as the African morals and values do not allow such.
“This is more romantic than fatherly love,” Giddy Akali said.
“Hii nayo hapana. It’s disrespectful to massage your father unless it’s under unavoidable circumstances like sickness,” Gilbert Mogaka shared his thoughts.
“RIP our great African values and culture,” another comment read.
Karuga Williams said, “NKT. What’s the mother doing? Useless.”
There are however those who felt that that was a very good gesture and congratulated her on that.
“I think she is humble if some of us go abroad na hawezi guza mzazi….and she is abig deal world wide and she can do that is the most humbling thing ever…at home she is just lupita the normal girl her daughter she never lost her roots kudos lupita…yet she is Billionaire yet so humble…most wealthy people are humble ..I wonder how many Billionaires in kenya can do that.. I admire you Lupita,” Henry Njogu said.
“Continue being a good daughter you’re,father to daughters love is priceless, more blessings girl,” Mumbi Maina wrote.
“Aaw happy for you if I touch my papa’s feet like this he will remain wondering if am okay,” another Kenyan said
