Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday November 19, urged the current administration to focus on its agenda.
Speaking in Mwingi where he attended a church service, Uhuru stated that it was time for the current regime to focus on its pledges instead of using threats and diversion tactics.
“Tulitishwa mara ee, sijui ooh, tumeambiwa sijui nini, sijui serikali iliopita ooh, tumezoea, kwa sasa kila mtu afanye shughuli yake, na tusonge mbele pamoja, ( we were threatened, we have been told I don’t know what, that the past sijui I don’t know did this and that and we are used to it. Right now let everyone focus on his business and move forward),” Uhuru stated.
His sentiments came days after Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen blamed his administration for the leaking roofs at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua backed Murkomen insisting that Uhuru’s regime was to blame for the substandard works that led to the leaking.
At the same time, he pledged his loyalty to Azimio la Umoja insisting that he was still an active member.
Uhuru maintained that party loyalty was key to building stronger political fronts in Kenya.
Lazima tuhakishe kwamba nchi yetu iko sawa, watoto wameenda shule na kuna amani ( we must make sure that our country is stable , children are going to school and we have peace),”he said.
“Let us not engage ourselves in the negative politics,” Uhuru added.
The former president added that it is not time to be afraid of anything, but to stay on course.
He was accompanied by Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other local legislators from the region.
