The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Embakasi East parliamentary candidate Francis Mureithi on Sunday found himself at the center of the clash between his supporters and those of Babu Owino.
From the photos shared online, Francis Mureithi was allegedly bleeding with drops of blood on his trouser and it is still not clear whether he got injured at jacaranda or whether he was injured somewhere else.
A video shared by Francis Mureithi showed his supporters wipe his body with a white cloth that was stained by blood like red substance.
The supporters of Mureithi and babu Owino for the better part of Sunday morning engaged each other in running and stone throwing battles.
Attempts by the police officers to cool down the two factions bore no fruit as the two sides were determined to prove their might to the opposite side.
Anti riot police officers had on Sunday morning been deployed at jacaranda grounds to block any attempts by the Kenya Kwanza and the Azimio factions to hold their rallies.
The deployment came in the wake of Azimio’s Embakasi east member of parliament Babu Owino claiming that he had equally booked the venue today on Sunday, the same day the Kenya Kwanza fraternity equally claimed that they booked it.
Consequently, the security officers cordoned off jacaranda just to prevent possible chaos from the two political factions.
