Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is said to have shelved her gubernatorial ambitions and she now want to try her luck on the senatorial one.
Following the move, it is believed that Kenyan Kwanza has settled for Johnson Sakaja to contest in Nairobi’s gubernatorial race.
Sakaja and Wanjiru had been in a stiff competition that at one point they almost engaged in a fist fight during campaigns in Nairobi in early February.
At the moment, Wanjiru used the opportunity to lecture Sakaja, since she was bitter that he was being preferred to fly the coalition’s flag in the gubernatorial race.
Wanjiru will now battle with city lawyer Karen Nyamu for the UDA ticket after it emerged that she has already cleared her nomination fee.

Netizens have however felt that that was a good strategy that Kenya Kwanza had taken and here are some of their reactions.
“This is an awesome move…very good advisers….let John sakaja be the governor,” Janoh Lucky said.
“This is good. I don’t vote in Nairobi but I will campaign to have five of my friends/relatives vote for her in UDA primaries and in main election,” Kamau Kibe said.
Others however suggested that there is no way that Wanjiru would beat Nyamu in the nominations.
“She no longer excites voters, her moment of fame expired. She won’t capture the imagination of voters even for the Senate seat. This time, the old will be replaced by younger candidates. From President to MCA, the story is the same,” Dennis Sprut said.
On the other hand, Nyamu is getting ready to hit the campaign trail about two weeks after welcoming her baby girl.
“It’s a come back!! Getting ready kuchachisha kanairo! Tupatane ground watu wangu,” she shared on Instagram with her fans pleased about her move.
