Drama ensued at the Homa Bay county assembly after a vocal member of the house was stripped naked by his colleagues.
Kabondo West MCA, Godfrey Juma AnyangoAnyango was on the receiving end of a gruesome shock after he moved to challenge Elizabeth Ayoo, the speaker of Homa Bay County.
Godfrey moved to ask why the MCA for Kakelo-Kokwanyo ward who is not a member of the service board was moving the motion.
This was in a push to send Daniel Kaudo, the county clerk packing on grounds of abuse of office. According to Anyango, Were knows little concerning the problems the clerk had caused.
Hell broke loose when MCA’S Walter Muok(Kanyandoto ward), Evance Mariana(Gwassi North ward) and Paul Adika(Lambwe ward) supported Anyango and questioned why the speaker couldn’t allow members with different ideologies to speak.
This compelled other members to raise their voices at the speaker, accusing her of being biased. It is at this juncture that a section of the MCA’S matched towards Anyango where they gave him a thorough beating and stripped him naked.
“Within two weeks when Ayoo returned as a speaker, she has un-procedurally disbanded the assembly service board, removed the clerk, and dismissed her deputy,” Marieba said.
