It has been reported that there is power outage in parts of Rift valley just moments before IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announces the winner of the presidential elections, seven days after Kenyans engaged in the general elections.
According to Nandi governor Stephen Sang’, KPLC is working to ensure that the issue is sorted out.
“KPLC is working round the clock to fix a technical problem on the Lesos main power line. They have given me the assurance that power will be back shortly. Alert me when that happens,” Sang tweeted.

Kenya Power is yet to issue a statement on the matter on its official social media channels.
Meanwhile, Kenyans are anxiously waiting over who will emerge victorious between Raila Odinga, who vied on Azimio ticket, and William Ruto, who vied on Kenya Kwanza. Several people including dignitaries have converged at the Bomas of Kenya and are waiting for the special announcement.
