Philanthropic Businessman SK Macharia has promised the Kamba Nation a local TV Station if the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga wins the 2022 general election.
SK Macharia made these sentiments on Friday in Makueni county during Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja popularization tour.
As a result, the billionaire urged the residents to consider rallying behind the opposition leader Raila Odinga in a bid to give him a better chance after president Uhuru Kenyatta exits the state house.
SK Macharia has been passionate about Raila’s presidency since time immemorial. At some point, he defended Raila Odinga’s record on corruption, maintaining that he could defend him to the last man since he (Raila) has never stolen anything from the public just like himself.
“And corruption must be eliminated first from the judicial system. There is no country that has developed in this world that has a corrupt judicial system and the rest will follow. And we believe baba who has not touched, he is like me, anything public, I know him, i can vet for him, i vet for his father, i vet for Kenyatta. Those who claim that Kenyatta stole land, I am ready to go with them to the archives. All his land that he got during the land transfer program has my signatures and the late Gakonyo. And we were selling an acre for two shillings and he paid.” Said SK Macharia
Today’s Makueni rally comes in the wake of Kalonzo Musyoka’s team being at loggerheads with ODM chief Raila Odinga.
The planned meetings has caused jitters in Ukambani amid claims that Mr Musyoka has been sidelined by Mr. Odinga. As a result, his allies even threatened to boycott the Ukambani Azimio La Umoja rallies due to the friction.
Raila Odinga met a delegation of grassroot leaders from Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties ahead of the South Eastern impending political tours.
Kalonzo through his allies even protested that the orange boss is working with governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) to undermine the former vice president.
“Using the governors means Raila does not understand Ukambani well. It is a clear indication he does not wish to work with Wiper going forward,” said Makueni member of parliament Daniel Maanzo.
“We shall be in Ukambani on Friday. We are still consulting with leaders ahead of the Ukambani chapter of the ‘Azimio la Umoja’ forum planned for Makueni,” Mr Odinga told ODM delegates at Chungwa House on Thursday.
“This is the time to share and digest ideas that will save our country. Like the Muungano Party, ODM subscribes to the UTU economic model,” he posted on twitter.
