Controversial Socialite Shakilla Opens Up On Why She Kept Off Social Media

Socialite Shakilla who has not been active in social media for the last two month has made a comeback revealing why she took a break.

Shakilla became a household name in the entertainment industry last year after her video in an interview with Xtian Dela went viral.

The controversial socialite who was only 19 years then, claimed that a lot of celebrities had paid her to sleep with her including Otile Brown, Victor Wanyama, Khaligraph Jones and Willy Paul.

All celebrities Shakilla mentioned, however, distanced themselves from her allegations with some threatening to take legal action against her. She claimed that she was paid Kshs700, 000 by Wanyama.

She was later featured in Eric Omondi’s wife material show and has been at loggerheads with musician Willy Paul.

The socialite has revealed that she was forced to take a break because she got depressed each time she logged into her social media platforms.

“I used to get depressed when I came to these apps, had to take a break,” she said in her Insta stories.

She further said that she used to compare her life with that of other netizens which was not healthy at all.

“Social media will really have you thinking you’re stuck in life and/or fomo. This sh!t is not healthy for real. Watching ppl at various stages in life comparing it to your’s. No way that’s healthy,” she said.

The socialite is also a university student and is said to be pursuing a bachelor’s in Computer Science covering aspects such as networking and web development.
