Kimani Wa Turraco alias Big Kim has come out to cry foul after Royal Media Service (RMS) owner SK Macharia blacklisted him on his stations over anti-Raila song.
Turraco composed a protest song of Raila Odinga who is making inroads in Mt Kenya for the first time in his presidential quest.
In a bid to curtail Raila’s advances in Mt Kenya, the Kikuyu vernacular singer decided to propagated Railaphobia by releasing a song dubbed ‘Haiwezekani Raila Is Big No’.
For years, Mt Kenya politicians have been using Railaphobia to rally their base not to vote for the former Prime Minister.
Kimani Wa Turraco decided to reignite Railaphobia in Mt Kenya by releasing a song demonizing the ODM leader with the intention of convincing voters in the region not to support his presidential bid.
In his song, the singer calls on Mt Kenya residents not to be “misled” to back the Raila in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He states that for decades Kikuyu elders have been warning their community to avoid working with members of the Luo community.
Turraco wonders why Kikuyus were now being urged to support Raila whom his ‘brother’ Uhuru used to refer to as a mad man before their handshake.
The Kikuyu vernacular singer now claims that Royal Media Service owner SK Macharia banned him from his stations following the release of anti-Raila song.
Macharia is an ardent supporter of Raila, he hailed the handshake between President Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister for uniting the country after the acrimonious 2017 general election.
Turraco claims that SK Macharia has banned all of his songs from being played by TV and radio stations under the RMS umbrella.
“This old man has ordered his stations not to play my songs henceforth because I am against Raila. What will we do now?” Kimani Wa Turraco wrote on Facebook.
