Deputy president William Samoei Ruto on Wednesday went to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) meeting at the Windsor Hotel.
However, what stood out was the absence of his runningmate Rigathi Gachagua from such an important meeting that will influence the outcome of the August 9th general elections.
The reason behind this was the fact that the other presidential aspirants namely Raila Odinga, George Wajackoyah and Mr. Mwaurah all showed up at the IEBC meeting with their runningmates.
According to credible sources, there were squabbles in Kenya Kwanza with regards to who was to accompany William Ruto to the IEBC function.
While others rooted for Musalia Mudavadi by virtue of being a principal in Kenya Kwanza, there are those who opined that Ruto’s runningmate ought to have accompanied the deputy president to the function.
Sonko News can authoritatively report that those against Rigathi Gachagua argued that he did not have a good public image going by what he had been uttering in public.
Others claimed that Rigathi being abrasive and prone to uttering certain words could have ashamed the Kenya Kwanza fraternity during such an important Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) meeting that was live in the mainstream media.
The meeting came just a few hours after Rigathi Gachagua while in Nyeri promised the locals that he would build for them a base for drinking porridge and eating roasted meat when they take power in August.
The Mathira member of parliament had vowed to recover all the money that was frozen from him so that he uses them to build the above facilities for his people to enjoy nyama choma and uji.
According to Gachagua who was speaking in Mathira constituency, he will recover the money that was frozen in 2020 when the government questioned the source of Ksh 12.5 billion that passed through his bank accounts.
“And you know if we take over the government… you know this government froze my money , when we take over, the money will be unfrozen,” Said Ruto runningmate.
“I put up a good house and a small house ya wazee ya kuchomea nyama as they take their favourite drinks as we chat – sawa? Then for women I put up a place where they can be visiting Mama Gachagua to take porridge as they sing and praise. And because women love dancing I will install a kinanda for dancing to,” He continued.
