Suna East member of parliament Junet Mohamed was on Thursday caught up in a war of words with the Marsabit residents during the Azimio rally.
A video clip went viral of a section of about 20 youths heckling during the Azimio rally in Marsabit as they hurled stones at one another.
Before the Azimio meeting began, the no nonsense Junet Mohamed was the master of ceremony at the time when section of the crowd started getting agitated.
Being a bully, Junet Mohamed instead of cooling down/begging the crowd through emotional intelligence decided that he was going to speak whether they liked it or not.
Not only did he order the crowd to be silent but he maintained that he was going to speak whether they heckled or not.
“Wacha mimi niongee buana, wacha mimi niongee kwanza, lazima niongee, lazima niongee wacha mimi niongee kwanza.” ranted Junet.
Sensing the defiance from Junet who was clearly angry, the azimio meeting was almost ruined as the youths kept chanting the names of their various local politicians.
Sonko News has since learnt that the heckling was caused by the local politics in the region as supporters of various candidates carried placards of their leaders in a bid to outshine one another.
So intense was the violence that even attempts by Raila Odinga to convince them to put aside their local political differences in Marsabit bore no fruit.
On their side, a number of Kenyans condemned the violence witnessed in Marsabit as they castigated the local politicians for ferrying their supporters to cheer them and spoil the Azimio meeting in the long run.
“See how the local politicans are misbehaving. How can you carry your goons to such rallies attended by people not interested in your local political affairs? Si you could have waited for them to go then continue with your fights at home? Very pathetic .” said one grace kamau.
