Bad Ending For Police Officer Who Was Captured Misbehaving While In Line Of Duty Along Kenyatta Avenue

Date:

The National Police Service has taken action against a traffic police officer who was captured on camera entering a private vehicle through the window.

In a statement, after the incident received wide condemnation, NPS said that the officer had been identified and he was undergoing disciplinary action over his unprofessional behavior.

“The National Police Service has taken note of an incident which has been trending on social media, whereby a police officer on traffic duties was captured forcing himself into a private vehicle. The said officer has been positively identified and is undergoing disciplinary action,” NPS said in a statement

The police body further called upon police officers to perform their duties professionally and with discipline.

“We reiterate that it is imperative for individual police officers to discharge their mandate professionally, diligently and with high levels of discipline,” read the statement.

A number of Kenyans however pitied the officer while saying that at times some drivers can be a nuisance as they called upon NPS to be lenient on the officer so that he does not lose his job.

The dramatic incident occurred along Kenyatta avenue on Wednesday and was captured by Citizen TV cameras.

According to the video, the officer is seen engaging in an altercation with the driver and within no time he accesses the car through the co-drivers window without minding the passenger.

The officer goes ahead to displace the driver from his seat and takes control of the car with the passenger bewildered with the turn of events.

Netizens called out the officer for behaving in a distasteful manner and portraying the entire police service in bad light.
