Deputy President William Ruto left Nairobi residents in stitches after taking time to enlighten them about what politics entails.
This was during an economic forum that was organized in Ngong where he sought to popularize his candidature and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance noting that it has the best interest for each and every Kenyan.
“In Nairobi, we have people of all classes. We have small scale traders, middle class, yesterday we were with industrialists and Kenya Manufacturers Association because we want our manifesto to talk about everyone who is a stakeholder in Kenya,” the deputy president said
Ruto called upon Kenyans to be sure of what they will get before casting their votes on those vying for various positions since politics is not like love, where you don’t expect anything in return.
“Here in Nairobi, we want to talk to everyone so that when you go to vote on August 9, you know why you are voting. Don’t vote so that a leader can get a position, as a ;leader gets a position ask yourself how you will benefit because politics is about interests not love. Politics is not love is about interest, love is for your girlfriend, your wife and the other one,” he said.
To further drive his point home, Ruto quoted the Bible incident whereby the disciples of Jesus demanded to know how they will benefit from him after leaving their lives, jobs and wives behind to follow him.
“As a Kenyan Citizen, don’t just go to vote just because a person has said tibim, tialala if the disciples of Jesus asked him what is in for us and Jesus was forced to tell them that they will receive double blessings on earth and eternal life,” he further noted.
