Safaricom Breaks Silence On Mpesa Problem As Kenyans Share Ordeals Of The Delays

Popular telecommunication company Safaricom has broken silence after Mpesa went down for the better part of Tuesday.

In a statement, Safaricom apologized for the inconveniences caused and assured its customers that the problem is being addressed.

“We regret there is general outage affectin g M-pesa services on STK and App. This is being addressed with utmost priority. Apologies for the inconveniences caused,” Safaricom stated.

Kenyans who attempt to transact money through Mpesa encounteerd challenges, with the service provider returning a message that the system was under maintenance.

Others have been left stranded while making payments and they have shared their ordeals of the delays online.

“Nimewekwa kwa Hoteli hapa Juu Wanadhani Sina Pesa Mpesa!! Safaricom PLC It’s Stupid To Mantain Mpesa During The Day When Most People and Businesses are actively working!!” a Facebook user lament.

Another wondered what he will do since he was in a matatu and his fare payment couldn’t go through.

“Safaricom Mpesa iko na shida gani? Niko kwa matatu alafu kutoa simu nilipe nauli mpesa haifanyi. Kwani mnataka ninyolewe mkwapa?”

“Safaricom should always make a prior communication before maintaining MPESA services. Sasa a whole Journalist nakaa mkora kwa like ya supermarket. What fuckery is this?” Edgar Wabwile said.

Others however have chosen to make fun of the situation.
