Safaricom Announces Planned Maintenance That Will Temporarily Shut Down Mpesa Services

Safaricom has warned its customers about a planned maintenance on its systems that will temporarily interrupt Mpesa services.

As from Tuesday October 19 to Wednesday October 20, Safaricom mobile subscribers will not be able to use the services.

“Our Mpesa services shall be undergoing planned maintenance on Tuesday 19th October 2021, starting from 2359hrs, to Wednesday 0400hrs. During the maintenance, all Mpesa services including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable,” Safaricom said in a statement shared on Facebook.

Safaricom said that the maintenance is meant for ensuring that the customers’ needs are met.

“We are constantly investing and innovating Mpesa to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our customers as well as continue to support our partners in their business ambitions,” part of the statement reads.

“To support this continued transformation, we regularly undertake this enhancements and maintenance of our systems from time to time,” Safaricom noted.

The company also apologized for the inconvenience that it will cause its customers during the said period of time.

“We apologize for any inconvenience that might be caused and thank you for your continued support,” Safaricom stated.
