Ruto key ally Mr. Jimal Ibrahim has been accused of trying to sabotage the Nairobi Metropolitan boss Major General Badi.
According to Kahawa Tungu, the tycoon is on the spot for his attempts to incite matatu Saccos so that they reject Badi’s intention of decongesting the city. As the association chairman of matatus in Kenya, he has been accused of holding meetings with these matatu operators. Jimal has vast influence on many matatus saccos operating on Jogoo road, Outering, South B and Eastleigh amongst others.
It is alleged that Jimal is being used by powerful cartels keen on controlling the matatu elections in favor of deputy president William Ruto come 2022. They said cartels operate from city hall and the larger Nairobi.

Jimal began by giving strike notice against the directive by the government to have limited passengers in PSVs and matatus. However, the strike did not pick up.
