A middle aged man from Ghana who bought a phone in the streets of Accra was left bemused after the phone he bought suddenly turned to be a piece of wood.
The story was brought to limelight by the victim’s brother who shared photos of the wooden phone in Facebook. From the pictures, one would be forgiven to think that it was a phone because it was well packed inside.
So disappointed was this man that he threw curses on air while swearing that the conmen will have to go to hell. “Some phone dealers will not make it to heaven, see what they did to my brother in Accra. Any victim in the house? Share your experience.” Said the brother.
The phone was sold to the victim for 28,000 Kenya shillings. Cases of people buying phones only to end up frustrated are common even here in Kenya. The conmen have mastered the art of playing with their victims who fall for these traps.
