According to Ringtone, he has decided to come to Eric Omondi’s aid since whatever he said was the truth. As a result, he urged Erick Omondi not to be worried because he would pay all his cash bail irregardless of the amount needed.

“Ladies and gentlemen, mimi ni chairman, hapa nilikuwa nimebeba pesa naenda kulipia Eric Omondi tunataka Eric Omondi asilale ndani. So nimebeba pesa ya kuenda kumlipia cash bail so ambieni Eric Omodni asishtuke ju chairman ako kwa njia na pesa ya kumtoa cell.

“Na nimevalia ile nguo ambayo  ni ya kanisa so askari wataogopa hii. So Eric Omondi nakuja kukutoa dont worry am coming to remove you from cell. Eric Omondi wewe ni clown lakini kenye umesema ni ukweli ata kama hujawai saidia msanii yoyote” Said Ringtone.

The self proclaimed president of comedy Eric Omondi was arrested by the police as he tried to lead a procession of artists to the parliament.

Last week, the comedian rallied Kenyan artists to join him to proceed to parliament to make some demands that would revive the music industry which he claimed is dead.

According to a video shared in social media, Eric was in the company of some few friends in the entertainment industry and could be seen trying to resist arrest under unclear circumstances.

According to his brother Felix Omondi, the self proclaimed president of comedy was taken to the Central Police Station.

Another video shared on his Instagram account shows the comedian and fellow artist heading to the parliament as they shout the name of the Starehe MP Charles Njagua Kanyi alias Jaguar.

On their side, the police said through a statement that he was arrested for causing disturbance near parliament buildings.

“He had not followed procedures to stage the so-called protests. We are however sorting him out,” Central OCPD Adamson Bungei said.

The comedian had called upon artists to go to the parliament to demand that local media houses play 75% of local music and also a pay rise.

“Ready to make history!!!We are storming the Parliament on Tuesday at 10am. If you are a Kenyan Musician or Aspiring Musician let’s meet in large numbers at Parliament Buildings   at 10am next Tuesday. We won’t be asking for much,” the comedian said on Instagram.

“All we want is: All Local Media to play 75 Percent of Local Music just like it is in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe and the List goes on and on,” Eric said

“That established local Musicians are accorded equal pay and treatment as their  International Counterparts by promoters and event organizers,” he added.
