Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has no plans of ditching the United Democratic Alliance(UDA) even as reports indicate that that is the step she has taken.
Word doing rounds on social media has it that the vocal lawmaker has ditched UDA after her absence was noted in the recent campaigns by DP William Ruto.
Addressing rumors that she had returned to work with ODM leader Raila Odinga under the Azimio la Umoja Movement, the vocal MP mentioned some of the reasons that she would never go back to work with the former prime minister.
First of all, she is among the founders of the political affiliation after decamping from ODM hence she can not quit the party at the moment to go back to where she was before.
“As you know me Aisha, I can’t vomit and go back to lick it. My leadership is strong. I can’t be pushed here and there. I want to tell my Kilifi people that I am inside UDA as one of the founders,” Jumwa said in a video that was shared on social media.
She claims that the Azimio movement is made up of cons who are spreading lies about uniting Kenyans.
“We are truly bringing Kenyans together and uniting them, not the unity being spoken by those cons,” she said.
According to Jumwa, there is no valid reason for her to join the Raila-led movement and the thought of doing so has never crossed her mind.
“Am strong, I have accepted to be the hope for the people of Kilifi and that’s why I take leadership as a strong thing for my people. Am ready to provide strong leadership without swaying or being influenced,” Jumwa said.
She asked the Kilifi people not to fear and as the incoming governor, she assured them the UDA is going to form the next government.
