The youthful lawyer Julie Soweto on Tuesday dealt deputy president Ruto a blow at the supreme court after exposing the rigging schemes that were meant to benefit him.
Lawyer Julie Soweto while making her submission at the supreme court shared details of 41 polling stations where votes were subtracted from Raila Amollo Odinga and added to the deputy president William Samoei Ruto.
In her own words, the lawyer said that there were more than 4,000 votes that were subtracted from Raila Odinga and added to Ruto. She produced evidence to support the same.
Julie Soweto also complained that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) intentionally disadvantaged the first petitioner by postponing elections in his strongholds namely Kakamega, Mombasa, Kacheliba, Kitui Rural amongst others.
She argued that the move was well planned and not accidental as earlier posited by the electoral commission. She also wondered how comes these cancellations only happened in Raila Odinga’s strongholds as opposed to William Ruto’s strongholds.
To further add meat to her case, she wondered why KIMS Kits only failed in the strongholds of the Azimio candidate and not those of the president elect. This was part of Lawyer Julie Soweto’s submission:
“In Celestine Anyango’s affidavit, the complaint is that in 41 forms from polling stations that she looked at, the forms 34A received by the petitioner’s agents vis-Ã -vis the forms 34A uploaded on the IEBC portal and those brought to the tallying centre are 3 totally different forms. The sample forms were from Bomet, Kiambu and Kakamega counties.”
