The Azimio presidential candidate Raila Amollo Odinga on Monday opened up on the obstacles their driver encountered on his way to the Supreme court with evidence.
While speaking at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC), the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader disclosed that some forces were keen on making it impossible for them to file their case.
According to him, they still managed to file the case despite the delaying tactics by these forces that were also present within the court premises.
Sonko News also learnt from credible sources that the lorry carrying evidence was highly guarded just to ensure that it successfully makes its way to the court.
Asked why it was important to give it security, the source opined that such a lorry would easily be attacked by unknown people just to make the Azimio case very weak due to lack of evidence.
“The white lorry carrying the explosive Supreme Court of Kenya petition just passed me at the University of Nairobi roundabout, being escorted by police outriders. You can’t take chances with these things. In this era of kidnappings, someone might deflate your tires and carry the files to go give them Mwakenya.” Said one Kenyan.
Our reporters at the Milimani law courts equally confirmed that the lorry was surrounded and escorted by the enthusiastic Azimio supporters that had arrived at the place in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Infact, when it arrived at the gate, the supporters were getting impatient given how the security guards were taking long to allow the lorry inside.
On his side, Raila’s top lawyer James Orengo after filing the case revealed that it was a civilian coup and the evidence they presented to the court will shock the world. This was part of the statement by veteran Raila’s lawyer:
“This election amounted to a civilian coup to the effect that every rule of the game was violated. We are bringing in to focus many other things including the Commission itself, the Commission has become a cesspool of transgressions and criminality and we are accusing the chairperson of the Commission for running the commission in a very dictatorial manner. We are also taking into account the manner in which the technology that was used in the conduct of the elections was abused and we have evidence where systems, networks, laptops and the entire kims kits were corrupted in order to achieve a result in favor of Mr. Ruto.”
