Raila Odinga Says He Is Not Ready To Retire From Politics

Date:

ODM leader Raila Odinga has hinted that he will be on the presidential race in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during his tour in Homa Bay County on Sunday November 12, the Azimio leader urged the locals to continue offering their support to him as well as his ODM political outfit.

“I am not ready to go home and you should be ready to support me. This region should be totally ODM. For us to be strong you must be ready to support us,” Raila said.

The opposition leader went ahead to accuse President William Ruto and the government of further making life unbearable for Kenyans, by imposing heavy taxation, with Mama Mboga and Boda bodas being the most affected.

He also shared some of the plans that his party had for Kenyans.

“Our plans as Azimio were to transform the country for development. Our goal was to address health, education and wealth creation through agriculture.

“Ruto has introduced taxes on many products that Kenyans can not afford. We had our own economic empowerment plan  including paying Kshs6,000 to vulnerable families. What Ruto promised has not worked and instead the mama mboga and boda boda who were promised heaven are really suffering,” he said.

Meanwhile, wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has washed his hands in supporting Raila in the next general elections.

The Wiper party leader laid his intentions bare while speaking on Saturday November 11,  in Machakos county.

“It is not easy to support Raila again in 2027,” the former vice president said.

He also referred to a recent statement by Raila, where he fronted Kalonzo for the 2027 race while in Bondo, although the remarks were clarified that he was only praising him for standing with him over the years, which did not serve as an endorsement.

“Our brother spoke his mind and we are still walking together, no turning back,” Kalonzo said.

He added that Azimio is still united.
