Raila Odinga gives 3 demands President Ruto must do for them to have talks

Date:

President William Ruto must now fulfill three conditions according to Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Raila says the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers must be opened, and President Ruto must first consent.

The chief of state should also cease the current recruitment of IEBC commissioners, he further commands.

“First, he has to consent to opening the server. Stop hiring IEBC commissioners, and the third problem is the high cost of living in the country”

Ruto must make sure the cost of life decreases immediately, the former prime minister continued, since Kenyans are suffering.

“Kenyans are suffering seriously. Some of them cannot put food on the table. Children are not going to school. The price of basic commodities unga, fuel is too high for the people,” Raila says.

He argues that currently there is no basis for them to talk as things stand.

The leader of Azimio La Umoja movement and ODM Party, stressed that conversations are required to decide how to handle the electoral commission because it is a referee who cannot be chosen by only one side of the political spectrum.

He suggested that in light of the most recent events, they also consider methods to restructure the IEBC.

Ruto’s decision to form a selection panel, according to Raila, indicates that he is not prepared for any negotiations.
