The founder and leader of ODM(Orange Democratic Movement), Raila Amolo Odinga speaking at Bondo Anglican church during the meeting between himself and the Mount Kenya delegation at his Bondo home in Siaya County on Saturday.
Raila Odinga said the meeting wasn’t meant to endorse him to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
The ODM leader intimated that some people had blown the visit by the Mount Kenya delegation out of proportion.
Raila maintained that the main aim of the meeting was to unite Kenyans.
“It is true that I was endorsed as a presidential candidate in 2022,” Raila Odinga said, adding, “What we were discussing was how the handshake could reach the rest of Kenyans.”
The former Prime Minister instead shifted his attention to the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) saying its passage would be a big relief to Kenyans.
Raila also accused the Deputy President, William Samoiei Ruto of hypocrisy challenging him to stop fighting the government from within.
