Raila Jets Back Into The Country From Dubai In Style

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Friday evening jetted back into the country from Dubai in style.

Raila had gone to Dubai for the expo where he represented Kenya and the entire Africa in the international expo that takes place after every five years.

While there, the opposition chief admitted that it was a good opportunity to showcase what Kenya has to the world.

“It is an opportunity to showcase what Kenya has to offer to the rest of the world. As they say, if you don’t tell your story nobody will tell it for you,” he said.

“What I have seen here is very impressive, from agricultural products to processed goods and value-added goods. Showing tourism potential of our country in relation to our different cultures, our unity in diversity or in other words azimio la umoja,” he added.

Raila Jets Back Into The Country From Dubai In Style

All the participating  92 countries has been allocated a national day to promote its culture, trade, investment and tourism opportunity to the world. Kenya’s national day will be held on February 16, 2022.

Raila also stated the need to increase intra-Africa trade which he said was inhibited by poor infrastructure in Africa.

“One of the inhibiting factors has been the poor infrastructure in the continent and we have to ensure that the infrastructure in the continent is improved so that we can increase trade among African countries,” said Raila.

In the meantime, Social media was awash with news that corporate leaders attending the Dubai 2020 Expo gifted Raila a Ksh31 million Range Rover Vogue 2022.

According to information which went round the social media, the Range Rover was fitted with bomb detectors and is also bullet proof.

Facebook user Weston Wanjohi claimed that corporate leaders gifted Raila the Ksh31 million Range Rover as a token of appreciation for his efforts in championing for democratic space in Kenya.

“Baba Raila Odinga gifted a brand new car, a bullet proof and a bomb detector fitted Range Rover Vogue 2022, latest Model by corporate leaders at the ongoing Dubai Expo 2020, United Arabs Emirates. While announcing the good news, the corporate leaders have described the gift as a small recognition for Babas tireless efforts in championing infrastructure development, democracy and fighting for human rights both within Kenya and the region. The new Range Rover was launched six days ago and has all the latest technology including a hybrid engine. The state of the art vehicle goes for Kshs 31million. Baba is receiving recognition and endorsements even beyond Kenyan borders. Congratulations Baba Raila Odinga,” wrote Wanjohi.

The Opposition leader arrived just a few hours after the popular Mbagathi Road was named after him on Friday morning.

Mbagathi way was set to be renamed after the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga yo appreciate his numerous contribution in the country.

The Nairobi members of the county assembly (MCAs) a few months ago came up with a bill that would see Mbagathi way called Raila Odinga way.

Apparently, the opposition leader has always taken credit for the construction on the Mbagathi way by use of materials which have withstood the toughest conditions.

According to the Star, The Makongeni MCA said the move would be a way of honoring and recognising the former Prime Minister’s contribution to the development and growth of the state.
