Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has been reportedly supplied with a list of names to choose his 2022 running mate from.
According to a certain source, Raila Odinga was recently furnished by names of leaders from the larger Mt. Kenya region which he is expected to settle on as general election looms.
“Mt. Kenya tycoons have given Raila Odinga six-names to choose from, for his 2022 running mate. Mwangi wa Equity, Kagwe wa Corona, Lee wa Nakuru, Macharia wa Royal Media, Munya wa Locusts, na Kenneth wa Tunawesmake. Don’t ask Arsenal fans who they’re betting with. Utachomeka bure.” Alleged the source.
Prior to meeting the Mt. Kenya Foundation leaders, Raila Odinga successfully climbed the mountain after he traversed different counties in Uhuru’s political backyard a few days ago.
The former Prime minister was hosted by several mount Kenya politicians including governors Nderitu Mureithi (Nyandarua), Dr. James Nyoro (Kiambu), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and several lawmakers like Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege.
The ODM pulled mammoth crowds during his visit to the surprise of many people who all along have been made to believe he wouldn’t be welcomed in the region.
This saw the Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia admit that Raila Odinga was always a victim of dirty politics which were purely meant for winning the elections and nothing else.
According to Kimemia, all they specialized in was to destroy Raila’s name in the past and it was high time the people of Mt. Kenya region became honest with themselves and back Raila Odinga since the man has never been bad as earlier preached.
“But you know we must change the narrative. Those days our work was just to malign the name of Raila Odinga and call him all sorts of names. The time has come we must be honest with ourselves and tell our people that it was all politics
“This was politics to win elections but we went overboard and personal with Raila Odinga. We just need to go back to our people and tell them what the real Raila comprises.
Kimemia further recalled reminding Karatina residents that the opposition leader is the one who prepared the cabinet paper for the institution.
“When we went to Karatina, we reminded the locals that Raila Odinga was the chair of the cabinet which came up with the paper to establish the university. These residents took interest in those sentiments because people have been thinking that the ODM leader cannot engage and support other communities.” Continued Kimemia.
