President William Ruto has left Kenyans talking after he was spotted wearing a very expensive belt.
Hawk-eyed netizens noticed Ruto’s expensive accessory when he was adjusting his pair of trousers while addressing congregants at Priesthood Fellowship in Kahawa West.
He is said to have been donning the Stefanno Ricci matted crocodile belt that goes for $2,800.
Here are some of the comments that Ruto’s belt attracted on social media.
“Rais anatembea na plot kwa kiuono”
“Ruto wearing a 500k belt but it’s mama mboga who’s supposed to tighten their belts.”
“Not defending Ruto but honestly mnataka avae ya pesa ngapi? Ya 250 kama DCI Juja?”
“What is wrong with one using a belt worthy 450k. Even us ladies use thongs and Gstrings worthy thousands of money. Those cabinet secretaries wear them its only that we don’t see them. Leave Ruto alone.”
“The President of the Republic of Kenya went to church today to tell Kenyans sleeping hungry to tighten their belts, while wearing a designer belt worth half a million Kenya shillings. You can’t make this stuff up!”
In the video that has since the head of state trend, Ruto said that his administration will ensure that the country experiences positive change.
“I want to assure you that we will change Kenya, relax. For many days us Kenyans, we have been asking ourselves a lot of questions. We began with Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, they were like us but they are now in the first world and we are still behind,”Ruto said.
According to him, the countries were ahead because of the leadership choices they made.
“We can’t move forward like them if we are not ready to make decisions like they did. They decided that there is a way that they will do their things. For us we want to be neutral, populist, a country can’t move forward like that but don’t worry we will align things,” he maintained.
