Homabay governor Gladys Wanga has made it clear that she will not be attending president William Ruto’s function in Homabay county.
The female Homabay governor while welcoming the president to Homabay revealed that she is in Mombasa for official county function and will not attend the worship at the AIC Church.
This is what Gladys wanga wrote on Sunday morning on her official Facebook handle:
“Mombasa, Kenya. HE The President Dr William Ruto is today 2nd October 2022 scheduled to visit Homa Bay Town to worship with us at the AIC Church. I wish to extend a warm welcome to The President on behalf of the great people of Homa Bay and request him to feel at home.
I am however out of the county on official duty and will therefore be unable to join HE for the church service and have communicated the same to His Excellency.
The people of Homa Bay have a culture of great hospitality and will warmly receive The President as he visits to pray with us. Karibu sana.H.E. Gladys Wanga.Governor”
However, this move did not go well with the supporters who argued that she was just pleasing her ODM master hence decided to give the function a wide berth. Others also urged Gladys wanga to stop practicing politics of poverty where you have to please your sponsor to stay relevant.
“My sister, this isn’t a tactical move. You could have come to receive the president and go back jioni. Fire your political advisor” Said Joseph Otieno.
“Uongo official duty my foot,,,take this opportunity to use the working president to bring more changes and developments in Homabay instead of chuki.” said William odhiambo.
“not good at allyou aught to have rescheduled your plans in mombasa and join the president with the people of HOMABAY. this is bad of you” said Anyango Onyango.
“Move on. The President is extending a hand of friendship and a reasonable leader should be responsive. We respect Baba and supported him for five decades now but that does not mean we opose everything to please Him. We must move on!!!!” said Janet Adhiambo.
“Politics is over madam GVN this a bad move we want development am your supporter but on this SHAME ON YOU.” Sated Omondi Ogolla.
“I remember you heckling him at BOMAS during BBI launch….ya mungu Ni mengi. God’s time is the best brethrens.” Said Nyakwar Otieno.
“Now you think you are mature sana? You are failing to meet the president and you are proud ni in nyofa ridha outside the country 😔” Complained one Auma.
“Opposition politics will kill our dreams as a community and Homa Bay county for that matter. This was an opportunity to tell the President to extend his visit to Suba South constituency to see for himself how the road system there is pathetic. But you chose to massage the ego of our loved old Mzee. Awuoro sana” Said Ochieng.
