Brazilian Philippe Coutinho has sent Arsenal fans into meltdown after the Barcelona playmaker followed a number of Gunners players on Instagram.
Coutinho has been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, with the links between the club and the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian well-known.
Joorabchian secured moves to Arsenal for his clients David Luiz and Cedric Soares last season and former Chelsea winger Willian, also represented by Joorabchian, will be officially announced as a Gunners player soon.
As a result, it is no wonder there have been strong rumours that Coutinho could follow suit and some eagle-eyed supporters took his social media activity to mean a deal is close.
“Let’s go…. @Arsenal don’t do me dirty, we should have had him last season…. Just please do it now…. You’ll make your money back in shirt sales and viewing numbers go up because it is @Phil_Coutinho…” one fan wrote after seeing that Coutinho follows club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Luiz, Cedric and Gabriel Martinelli.
“He’s coming to us for sure for sure”, added a second.
“Cant wait to see Coutinho and Willian put Arsenal shirt on”, wrote a third.

Joorabchian recently offered an update on Coutinho’s future in an interview saying: “After the Champions League is finished, and whatever happens, then we’ll sit down.
“It could be that Barcelona is the ultimate destination. He loves the Premier League, but the finances and the numbers and the situation of COVID are going to play a big part. He’s a big player with big numbers.”
“But I think that cycle had come to a moment where it’s a good moment to leave. At the moment, just for now I can’t say where he’s going to go, for sure Arsenal are one of the contenders.
“But it wont be long before we announce it. We know where he’s going, so it wont be long.”
