Former Starehe MP Charles Njagua aka Jaguar is blaming his competitors for wanting to taint his business.
According to him, the expose on his iPhone store selling fake and old phones was a plot by his competitors to bring him down.
He however admitted that it was a one time mistake that was sorted out
“I don’t care about being thrown stones at. It’s a competition, we have sold more than one million phones. In every business you can find that one things has fails to go as expected and as you know most people, you will find when they have an iPhone 13 will want an iPhone 14, they usually bring them we exchange for them. I think its one mistake that happened but we are still selling. So competitors took up that story and wanted to show that we were not doing business as required,” he said in an interview.
Jaguar further said that the incident however did not affect the business in terms of sales. He expressed gratitude to customers who were still streaming at the the shop for the support, despite the incident that went viral.
“We keep working and I can say that our phones are not fake,” he maintained.
Earlier this month, Jaguar’s phone store, iPhone Street Kenya, was exposed for exploiting customers by selling ageing and refurbished phones at the price of new ones.
While addressing the scandal for the first time, Jaguar said that he would take full responsibility of the issue.
“As the director of @iphone_streetkenya, it is quite unfortunate that some of our clients have experienced dissatisfaction. I have taken a personal initiative and take full responsibility for what happened. I commit to establishing a new customer service team for clear product information and dispute resolution to mitigate any issues moving forward,” he said in a statement.
