CA Starts Process Of Replacing Ezra Chiloba

The Communications Authority of Kenya has announced a Vacancy in the position of Director General after the departure of Ezra Chiloba.

In a notice that was shared to local dailies, CA said that those interested in filling the position have up to November 17, at 5pm, to submit their applications.

The ideal person that the Authority is looking for should have a Bachelors degree in the field of Humanities and social sciences, Applied or Physical science, Business related fields, Telecommunication, Information Technology or equivalent qualification.

Other requirements are; meeting the chapter 6 of the constitution, over 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years in senior management.

Applicants are also required to be financially acumen, able to mobilize and manage resources effectively, have knowledge of emerging technologies and their impact on the sector.

Chiloba had held the position since September 2021, following the death of Francis Wangusi.

He resigned from the position on October 18, 2023 after being suspended over allegations of abuse of office and misuse of funds that saw CA lose Kshs662.4 million.

“The board of directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya has this morning, October 19, 2023, accepted the resignation of Mr Ezra Chiloba as the Director General. Mr Chiloba resigned yesterday, October 18, 2023, in a letter to the chairperson of the CA board. On behalf of the Authority, I wish the outgoing DG success in his future endeavours and appreciate his invaluable contribution to the organisation and the wider ICT sector,m”: the chair of CA’s board of Directors Mary Mungai announced on October 19.
