Oparanya Comes Clean On Endorsing Cleophas Malala On His Official Facebook Account

Date:

Outgoing Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya has broken silence following reports that he had endorsed Cleophas Malala in the ongoing mini-polls.

Oparanya found himself on the wrong side after a post endorsing Malala instead of ODM’s Fernandes Barasa was shared on his verified Facebook account.

“Vote Cleophas Wakhungu Malala,” read the post that was accompanied by Malala’s photo.

Taking to his official Twitter handle to address the matter, the former council of governors chairman said that his Facebook account had been hacked and that the hackers were responsible for spreading the message, adding that DCI had taken up the matter.

“This is to NOTIFY the general public that my Facebook page has been hacked by agents of doom. IGNORE any post on my Facebook page as we await @DCI_Kenyato handle the matter and restore it,” Oparanya said.

Several People including Azimio blogger Robert Alai have expressed doubts regarding the hacking claims.

Oparanya, Days of “my account was hacked” are over. Let’s be serious,” the blogger said.

Malala, who served as Kakamega senator from 2017, is vying on an ANC ticket. Barasa is a former KETRACO managing Director.
