There may soon be some hopes in the efforts towards finding out who really murdered the business mogul Mr. George Mwangi.
According to a CCTV footage in possession of the detectives, the killers almost succeeded in their mission but since there is no perfect crime, they committed one fatal mistake that left shreds of evidence behind.
The detectives have revealed that a CCTV camera installed by a Chinese construction firm captured the last moment when George Mwangi’s body was enroute to be dumped inside a forest.
According to the footage, a vehicle believed to be transporting the body of the deceased branched off at Thika ManguMagumu flyover. Police have so far confirmed that the vehicle belonged to the late.
The sleuths have further stated that the body of George Mwangi was dumped on October 12th in broad daylight, the same day it was discovered by area residents.
“The vehicle and its driver was captured by a CCTV camera from a Chinese construction company that is constructing the Thika-Magumu fly-over road.” they said.
The detectives also revealed that in as much as the killers had planned on how to take away the life of the businessman, they committed many mistakes in the process especially during the disposal, an indication that there was no clear plan from the beginning to the end.
The officers believe that the decision by the killers to branch off at the flyover was the first fatal mistake because they were avoiding a police roadblock a few kilometres from the area.
Besides, the movement was unusual since that was the only vehicle that branched at that spot which was clearly not busy on the particular day.
Another detective who also spoke to Sonkonews disclosed that the killers were too confused to the extent of disposing the body during the day and not at night like in most cases.
“No one disposes such bodies during the day. These were clearly amateurs in that field. They will soon be caught and face the law.” He said.
