A CCTV footage places around six disbanded Special Service Unit (SSU) officers at the exact spot where Indian nationals plus their driver were abducted.
Reports reveal that a phone belonging to one Indian has complicated things for the SSU officers and put them at the centre of the kidnapping of these two foreigners and their Kenyan counterpart who was their taxi driver.
A phone belonging to Zaid Kidwai was reportedly switched off at a key security installation hence putting the officers there once again. Insiders have revealed that the phone signals for the Indian and the DCI officers were almost at the same spot when they were abducted.
Determined to pursue the matter to the end, the Ruto administration is said to be keen on conducting a second audit on the tracking devices that were used by these DCI officers.
Details have also emerged that around 10 disbanded SSU officers to be state witnesses against a former senior Directorate Criminal Investigation officer who gave them orders. State may also put them under witness protection.
Reports also reveal that president Ruto is keen on pursuing the matter to the end on two grounds. The first ground is because of the pressure from the Indian government that wants to know what happened to their nationals in Kenya.
The second reason why the president is keen on the issue is because the Indian Nationals were his ICT experts a few weeks to the 9th general election.
According to Dennis Itumbi, the Indian Nationals were ardent Ruto supporters who contributed immensely in one way or another in his campaigns. Below is what Itumbi wrote about the Indians after it emerged that they were murdered and bodies dumped:
“Zaid and Ahmed decided to have a dance that night. It was a great night. There was actually a communication crisis in the campaign that day. Somehow, they sorted their assignment without betraying the fact that they were having some fun.
As they left, later that night. They called a cab. Evidence shows them getting into the cab, minutes later, a vehicle, the ones used by the ROGUE DCI Unit blocked the cab.
Zaid and Ahmed are dragged into the car. Their cab driver too. One of the men then takes control of the cab. The trio is then held in a killer waiting bay – a container used to slaughter Kenyans in a Police station for the last few years. After three days, the trio are put in a vehicle towards Aberdares..Investigators are followings clues from there.
