DP William Ruto and his wife, Rachel, on Thursday May 5, 2022 led a prayer breakfast at his official Karen residence in Nairobi.
Those in attendance included his key allies, Kenya Kwanza Alliance members as well as pastors among other guests.
During the function, Rachel shared some encouraging bible verses with her guests.
One of the verses was about Elisha, in 2kings 2 where he purified dirty water by using salt. Rachel revealed that she attempted the miracle in their home and it worked.
According to her, God spoke to her about the verse in 2018, that made her remember the dirty water in their private Karen residence.
Rachel said that they drilled a borehole in 2003 and the water was taken for tests in a laboratory to determine whether it was safe for consumption.
“They told us that we could not drink that water until it was purified so my husband, the deputy president, went into a venture and bought a very expensive purifying machines and that is what we have been doing, purifying the water all the time before we can use it,” she said adding thats impurities in the water were so visible. The Lord however kept reminding her about what Elisha did to make the water pure.
“I kept wondering and saying, supposing I pray for this water, is it possible to be purified? This is what has been happening since 2003. Recently the purifying machines had problems, I called my team from Eldoret to come and repair it for us and just after one week again the water was not clean. Our boy at the residence was getting frustrated,” she went on.
The urge to pray for the water and do what Elisha did grew stronger and Rachel thought of bringing a man of God for the prayer session.
“Now on Wednesday, the other Wednesday, usually it is our day of praying and fasting, I went to the office for a meeting, then I went for prayers then I thought let me go to the residence and see what is happening. When I got there, the Lord reminded me about that water… I went to the kitchen, took a bowl, put salt and went to the borehole and I went and decreed the words of Elisha I said ‘This water will never be dirty again’,” Rachel revealed.
DP Ruto’s wife then sprayed the salt around the borehole. It was about to rain at the time and she rushed to the house to seek shelter.She later left after finishing her errands at the private residence and returned to the official one.
She again visited the private residence on Friday with some guests and to her surprise, the water was looking different.
“I waited when the guests had left, I called the boy I was like Shadrack what happened to the water and he told me I don’t know what happened to the water, the water is now clean,” a visibly excited Rachel said.
Since then, the water at the residence has been clean and their workers no longer need to purify it before use.
DP Ruto echoed his wife’s testimony saying that he is a witness to the clean water. He added that the water from the borehole was black
“As you have heard, I have not had peace since last week. On this Friday I was in the bedroom and I heard shouts from downstairs and I was wondering what the problem was but then there was this water that was being brought and I was being forced to drink this water. We’ve had a borehole in our private residence that has had problems in fact the water is black but you know, we have clean water, I am a witness” the DP said.
