Ndindi Nyoro Explains What Exactly Drew Anne Waiguru To UDA

Date:

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has insisted that Anne Waiguru joined UDA because of the party’s ideology and beliefs which she agreed with.

Waiguru officially ditched Jubilee for the DP William Ruto led party on Monday October 25 after attending a meeting with UDA officials at DP’s Karen residence.

According to Nyoro,  Waiguru made the decision since the bottom up economic model is well exemplified, practical and easy to understand and implement.

“The bottom-up policy is well epitomized, easy to understand and practical where we want to move as a Kenyan people by including everyone to be a participant of the growth of our economy, so Anne Waiguru read the ideology of UDA and understood it,” the lawmaker said.

He further said that the ideology is inclusive since it ensures that everyone actively participates in the economy.

“Majority of the citizens of Kenya have only been passive participants in our economy. The bottom-up ideology talks about having people on board to become active participants in our economy, and these are the very issues we are looking at,” Nyoro added.

He argued that Waiguru’s move was also influenced by the people of Kirinyaga county as they dictated which party they would wish to represent them.

“Politics is local. Anne Waiguru saw the direction of the people of Kirinyaga and made the right decision. You have to walk together with your people and you cannot walk in isolation,” the MP said

Nyoro defended Waiguru’s move saying that she is not the only politician who has shifted to UDA ahead of 2022 general elections.

“We are in the transfer period in terms of politics and every politician has to look at their interest and that of the people they represent. In terms of UDA, you only highlighted the issue of Waiguru, but if you go backwards you will see that we have been receiving defectors from various political parties,” Nyoro said.

He also claimed that UDA is leading in the number of MPs at the National Assembly followed by ODM

“UDA is a new party. It is not a parliamentary party in terms of definition because it is new but in terms of the membership of elected leaders subscribing to UDA, we have around 155 MPs in the National Assembly and Senate. The other party that is second is actually ODM at around 70, then there are the remnants scampering for safety and we will be receiving more in coming days,” Nyoro stated.
