Nairobi members of county assembly have voted out a proposed amendment bill by the embattled governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
The MCAs voted overwhelmingly to reject Sonko’s bill that sought to amend the 37.7 billion county budget they approved last month.
Mike Sonko referred the bill back to the county assembly citing technical illegalities. He wanted the assembly to consider executive input before assenting to it.
Sonko has not been a happy man since the inception of the Nairobi Metropolitan Service NMS. His powers and roles were transferred to the national government after being charged of corruption in a court of law.
